Frequently asked questions
What kinds of pets do you film?
All of them. Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles, and every companion in between. If a pet is part of your family, they’re part of a story worth telling, and we build every film around that particular animal and the people who love them.
How much does a Spotlight pet film cost?
We offer three cinematic packages: Cameo at $295, Feature Presentation at $695, and Blockbuster at $1,295. If you’re outside our filming area, Spotlight Remote builds a finished film from footage you already have, starting at $195. Gift certificates are available for any package. See the Pricing page for what’s included in each.
What areas do you serve?
Our filmed packages are based in Broward County, Florida, and we come to you: at home, at the park, at the beach, or wherever your life together happens. Those familiar places are where your pet is most themselves, and it shows on camera. Reach out and we’ll confirm the details for your area.
What if I’m not local to Broward County, FL?
You can still get a Spotlight film through Spotlight Remote. Instead of an in-person session, you send us the photos and video you already have, and we craft them into a finished, cinematic story film. It’s a budget-friendly way to get the Spotlight treatment from anywhere, starting at $195, with no session required.
Do you offer gift certificates, and can I give a film as a surprise?
Yes. A gift certificate for any of our packages is one of our most meaningful projects, perfect for birthdays, anniversaries, holidays, or a beloved senior companion’s milestone. Choose a package or a set amount, and we’ll prepare a beautifully presented certificate the recipient can redeem whenever they’re ready. We coordinate with you discreetly so the reveal stays a surprise.
What if my photos and videos are old, blurry, or a mess?
That’s completely normal, and it’s welcome. Old camcorder tapes, tiny phone clips, screenshots, faded prints: we digitize, restore, and color-match whatever needs it. The imperfect footage is often the most honest and moving part of the film. You don’t need to sort or organize anything first.
How many photos or how much video do I need to provide?
Whatever you have is enough. Some families send a handful of favorite photos; others share years of clips. During your discovery call we’ll give you a simple sense of what works best for your film, and our secure upload makes sending everything easy, no matter the format or file size.
Do you film new footage, or only use what I already have?
Both, depending on the film you choose. Most of our films blend present-day footage we shoot of your pet and family with the archive you provide. If you’d prefer a film built entirely from your existing memories, or one focused on a beautifully filmed day together, we can do that too.
How do I know which film is right for me?
That’s exactly what the discovery call is for. Tell us about your pet, your family, and the occasion, and we’ll recommend the film that fits your story and your budget. There’s no pressure and no obligation. You can also compare what’s included in each package on our Pricing page.
How long is the finished film?
It depends on the package, generally from a short one-to-two-minute cinematic portrait up to a five-to-seven-minute life story film, plus vertical clips you can share on social media. Every film is edited to feel complete rather than padded, so the length always serves the story.
How long does the whole process take?
Most films are ready within a few weeks of your filming day and once we’ve received your memories. Timelines vary with the package and the season, so we’ll give you a clear estimate up front. If you have a birthday, holiday, or gift deadline, let us know and we’ll plan around it.
Can you create a film for a pet who has passed away?
Yes, with care and patience. Our remembrance films are made gently, on your timeline, with no rush. Some families reach out right away, others years later. Whenever you’re ready to celebrate the life you shared, we’re here to help you tell it well.
How will I receive my film, and can I share it?
Your finished film is delivered in a private online screening room, ready to share with family and friends, along with downloadable files that are yours to keep forever. Every package also includes a preview cut and a round of revisions, so we can adjust the music, pacing, or moments until it feels right to you.
